Rehabilitation Through our innovative partnership with Ambassador Health, there is no need for you to travel outside of the facility to receive high-quality dialysis care. This allows you to maintain a normal rehabilitation schedule, including appointments, meals, and activities, to help you return to your home as soon as possible.
In-Center Hemodialysis Hemodialysis uses an artificial kidney machine to cleanse the blood and remove excess body fluids. An access device called a fistula or graft is placed in an arm or leg, or temporary access through a hemodialysis catheter is placed in the neck. Both access devices allow the connection of the bloodstream to the artificial kidney, where it is cleansed and returned to the patient. The treatment usually averages four hours, three times per week.
Hospital Rest assured, your dialysis care with DCL doesn’t stop if you are in the hospital. Our partnership with Bryan Health and CHI Health ensures that you have continued access to high-quality dialysis care. Our hospital staff will work with our outpatient staff to accommodate any changes in your care once you are discharged from the hospital to help make your transition home as seamless as possible.
Transplantation A kidney transplant involves a kidney from either a living relative, an unrelated living person, or an unrelated deceased person surgically placed into the patient’s body. Kidney Education Classes At DCL, we invite you and a friend or family member to attend an education program for people with kidney disease. This program is designed to acquaint you with kidney disease, treatment options, diet, and adjusting to life with kidney disease. This program is available free of charge.
